Once victims enter their personal information on the fake website criminals can steal it. While ransomware, criminals use a type of malware that encrypts victims documents and demands a ransom payment to unlock them again.

Ransomware attacks have become increasingly common in Germany in recent years. Data breaches occur when criminals gain unauthorized access to a company or organization’s computer systems.

Once they have access they can steal sensitive data, such as a customer s credit card number or an employee’s Social Security number. While online fraud is a broad term that includes various kinds of fraud such as fake online shopping sites fake investment schemes, and all forms of fraud on the internet.
