The boss of Wagner Group mercenaries Yevgeny Prigozhin drew attention after allegedly being killed when his Embraer Legacy private jet crashed in Tver on Wednesday (24/8). Prigozhin was reportedly a passenger on the jet. Embraer Legacy flies from Moscow to St Petersburg. However, half an hour after takeoff the plane was reported to have caught fire from the impact. Prigozhin’s name, which has earned the nickname ‘Putin’s chef’, has actually been sticking out since the beginning of the Russian invasion of Ukraine. Mercenary personnel, he said, were at the Rostov headquarters since 7:30 a.m. local time, CNN was quoted as saying .
